I don't remember a time when I wasn't involved with fiber in some form. My education was started by two grandmothers - both excellent needlewomen - who cheerfully competed to see who could teach me more. A steel crochet hook and bedspread cotton before 1st grade...check. I did that. Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt blocks sewn by hand quickly followed. I designed my first piece of embroidery by the age of 9, lacing and framing it myself. It still hangs in my studio and I use it as a teaching tool for beginner stitchers.
My passion in design is geared towards the interplay of color and texture. I enjoy geometrics, fine threads and composite stitches most of all. The more intricate the details, the better I enjoy the stitching journey. I love the challenge of mixing fiber styles and using different disciplines in my designs. I delight sharing my passions with others and look forward to sharing my works with you, either individually or in a group.
